So, trying this format out for the first time. Futura has the luxury of too many performers, with a diverse taste in music, but one that I can always trust will be forward thinking and bass-centric. We’re all familiar enough with each other’s tastes, and in what makes a good set. SO with that in mind, we’re doing a DJ free for all, playing off each other’s styles, and will hopefully create the best set in history. That, or its going to be a total shit show, but it’s a win/win situation, right? How else to welcome in the spring (technically its spring now, though its felt like it since november, just with less leaves).
So without further ado, the cast of characters.

AUGUST 18TH
Local wunderkinds KEVIN McPHEE and BWANA have been making names for themselves globally. In a short period, KEVIN McPHEE has signed to Naked Lunch, and made a huge name for himself. His production is crisp, bubbly, ethereal. His DJing brings together a melange of classic house, garage, dubstep (the kind without skeletor poses), and techno. His sound progresses madly, and provokes gyration. BWANA, with less than a year under his belt producing, has quickly found his own sound, and found support and admiration in others. Signed to Montreal based label Infinite Machine, we’ll see the release of two EPs of his this year. Unfortunately, he won’t be a denizen of Toronto much longer, with an impending move to the UK at the end of the month. See him now while he’s here!
